This month we are delighted to share some exciting happenings provided by Misty Selph, SAI Program Development Office Manager working with Safe Kids Savannah, which is led by Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center.
The Safe Kids Savannah Coalition hosted the 9th Annual Gage Ochsner Kids Fishing and Water Safety event on September 22. There were over 100 children and their families who came out to learn about water safety and participated in a Free Fishing Day. Children learned about lifejacket safety, marine science, angling and ethics, knot tying and marine conservation. Children received free t-shirts, rods, reels, tackle boxes and enjoyed lunch with their families.
