About Us

Safe Kids Walker County was founded in 2009 with Walker County Emergency Services proudly serving as the lead agency. Our founding partners included Rock City, Rossville Fire Department, Georgia State Patrol, GSP Motor Carrier Compliance Division, Walker County Health Department and Mike Herndon State Farm. Our partners have since expanded to include Chickamauga Womans Club, LaFayette Womans Club, Walker County Schools, Walker County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Oglethorpe Fire Department, Mountain View Head Start, State Farm agents Ronnie Holden, Carlton Wheeler, Bobby Emerling and Denna Day.

Our Lead Agency

Walker County Emergency Services, led by Fire Chief Randy Camp, provides fire protection services to the unincorporated areas of Walker County as well as the City of Chickamauga. WCES also provides ambulance service to all of Walker County. WCES is comprised of both career and volunteer members, staffing 18 stations across the county. Utilizing state-of-the-art medical equipment as well as providing top notch rescue response, WCES leads the way in emergency services in Northwest Georgia.
