Safe Kids Day 2014: Highway Safety Education in Forsyth County
Sharing is caring!
Warmer weather is upon us and many Georgia families hit the road for fun in the sun. To combat the common uptick in roadway fatalities Safe Kids Forsyth County and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety planned an educational tour across Forsyth County May 7-10. The agency and approximately 100 volunteers from 20 statewide organizations visited schools, senior centers, parks and businesses to educate motorists on highway safety. To close out the week with a bang certified technicians held a safety seat check at the Walmart in Cumming. They helped many local parents to properly install booster seats and car seats as well as ensure children were in the correct seat for their size and weight. Technicians from the Forsyth County Fire Department, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department, Department of Public Health, Georgia State Patrol and other law enforcement agencies and organizations participated in the event.
