Sharing is caring!

On Saturday, October 6th Safe Kids Georgia participated in the 4th Annual Gordon County LEPC Health & Safety Fair held in Calhoun Georgia. The event was held in conjunction with the Fall Kids Workshop presented by Home Depot. Families throughout the community had the opportunity to come out and meet their local first responders and tour emergency vehicles.

Each year the Local Emergency Planning Committee with Gordon County Department of Health organizes this event to provide information to families related to injury prevention. This year the focus was connected to distracted driving and representation from Georgia State Patrol and our amazing partner Teens in the Driver Seat offered middle and high school teens with the chance to test out their driving abilities using the pedal cart. Teens quickly realized the importance of safe driving and the dangers of using a device when behind the wheel.

With all the activities, giveaways and guest appearances from Smoky & Sparky, this was truly an event not to miss! It was a pleasure to take part in the fair hosted by April Harkins with Gordon County Health Department and we look forward to further collaborative opportunities.
