Coalition Spotlight: Safe Kids Greater Augusta
Sharing is caring!
Yet again our Coalition Coordinators are meeting needs and making a difference in their community! It is our pleasure to feature this month the impact of injury prevention and amazing partnerships in action shared by Renée McCabe, Coalition Coordinator of Safe Kids Greater Augusta, led by Children’s Hospital of Georgia.
A big shout out of thanks to our phenomenal Augusta University Health Nursing Team for your outreach and compassion to families in our community at the Bike Rodeo on July 28th. Because of your tireless efforts with Safe Kids Greater Augusta, along with our partnership with Augusta Urban Ministries and Safe Routes to Schools, we were able to serve 96 children with bikes and helmets, along with bike helmet safety and riding skills education. While there was an outpouring of response from the community you managed registration, taught brain injury prevention and fit bike helmets despite the challenge of braids, beads, and buns! Kudos to all of you! It is a privilege to have you on our Safe Kids Greater Augusta Team!
