Sharing is caring!

As we wrap up the end of another great school year, we reflect with gratitude on the collaboration between the Georgia Department of Transportation and Texas A&M Transportation Institute. Teens in the Driver Seat® has developed a national reach of more than 1.3 million children. Safe Kids Georgia/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta proudly serve as the state partner to promote the expansion of this program to schools in Georgia.

These past few months have certainly looked different than years past for many students, yet nearly the 80 middle and high schools participating in the Teens in the Driver’s Seat®  program finished strong!  Thanks to the support of Georgia Department of Transportation this initiative is at no cost and offers educational resources delivered right to the school to empower and encourage safe driving and traffic safety.  This year, students were able to dive into existing distant learning activities like Ride with Me @ Home and more including Kahoot! Challenges, social media engagement while still competing for the TDS All-Stars Awards and other prizes.

Check out some of the outstanding state-wide success from this school year:

We look forward to another great year in offering Teens in the Driver Seat® to schools across the state!
