Safe Kids Georgia would like to welcome our newest Cobb County coordinator, Lisa Grisham!
What excites you most about Safe Kids?
I’ve been involved with Safe Kids for 17 years in different roles and the one thing that I still love the most is how we make an instant difference in a child or family’s life. Whether it’s checking car seats or bike helmets or educating on the myriad of other injury prevention topics, there’s always that “AH HA” moment or even that “eyebrow raise” moment. It never gets old and it keeps me motivated and excited about our mission.
What do you want to accomplish by serving as a coordinator?
This is a toughy. Our goals are set and a lot of our programs are very established. So, I think I would want to expand with more of the new programs like Youth Sports Safety while making the programs we already have be an example to other coalitions and community groups.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I love a good shopping trip! (that might be an addiction instead of a hobby though) I love going to shows, especially ones my son is acting in. I love anywhere that has sand and an ocean view. Or going to a Braves game.
Can you name something interesting about yourself?
I have been with Safe Kids almost as long as Safe Kids has been around.
