This month we are recognizing Safe Kids Clayton County to highlight their vehicle and road safety efforts within the community. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that nearly 30 percent of car seats are installed or adjusted incorrectly, leaving children at risk in a crash. With the tremendous support of Riverdale Fire Services and Riverdale Kroger, Safe Kids Clayton County conducted a car seat check event on November 1st to educate parents and caregivers on best practices surrounding child passenger safety. The success of events like this is due to invaluable partners that enable Safe Kids Coalitions to effectively serve the community. Attendees learned all about how to protect their child with the right seat through step-by-step demonstrations, guides and educational resources.
