Safe Kids Columbus, led by Piedmont Columbus Regional, participated in Dream Lives, an event honoring the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Columbus GA Convention & Trade Center. The event was held on Saturday, January 18th and showcased a diverse selection of speakers, and presenters.

Among the speakers was Safe Kids Columbus Coordinator, Pam Fair, who addressed the importance of several childhood injury prevention topics, including home safety, carbon monoxide awareness and prevention, and booster seat safety. Additionally, Safe Kids Columbus was also involved in the Dream Lives’ Kids Zone, a designated area for child interaction and engagement. Coalition members held a “Home Safety Challenge,” where children participated in an interactive session to identify the differences between a safe and unsafe home. The event was highly successful as Safe Kids Columbus members engaged with nearly 200 attendees.

“This event was a wonderful celebration of Dr.King’s life and accomplishments and we were honored to be a part of the celebration”

-Pam Fair, Safe Kids Columbus Coordinator
